Robert Finkel, Laurie Kazenoff and Michelle Espey Featured Speakers At Keynote Session At NCCPAP 2017 Tax Symposium

Robert Finkel, a partner of the firm,  will be a featured speaker on a special tax court panel during the keynote session at NCCPAP’s 2017 Long Island Tax Professional Symposium on November 15-17, 2017 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

His session “The United States Tax Court: What You Need To Know” will take place on November 16th at 9:00 am.  Tax practitioners who frequently handle Examinations or Appeals cases may not realize how important everything they do at those early stages can impact their client’s rights and how receiving a Statutory Notice of Deficiency can change the game.  This session will address those issues as well as privilege evidence issues that exist at the early stages of a case, the role of statute extensions, whether or not to file a petition, substantive and procedural issues when preparing a petition, rights to an Appeals Conference, rules of practice before the Tax Court, settlement conferences for docketed cases, and what to do when the IRS wants to litigate your client’s issue even if you don’t.
