Garden City, New York; June 10, 2008— Leslie A. Berkoff, a partner in the Garden City law firm of Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLP has been named by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s Top 50 Women for 2008.

The awards are presented each year by Long Island Business News to professional business women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their professional accomplishments, mentoring and community involvement.

Ms. Berkoff is a partner with the firm and serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups.  She concentrates her practice in the area of bankruptcy litigation and workouts and represents a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditor committees both nationally and locally.  Ms. Berkoff has been Chair of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation since 2004 and has served on the Board of Directors of that organization for over ten years. She also serves as Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Healthcare Insolvency Committee.  Ms. Berkoff is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association and a past Chair of its Bankruptcy Committee.  In addition, she also serves on the Board of Editors of Pratt’s Journal of Bankruptcy Law and is a past President and Board Member of Hofstra School of Law’s Alumni Association.
