Moritt Hock & Hamroff Welcomes New Partner Alexander D. Widell

Garden City, NY; July 15, 2014 —Marc L. Hamroff, managing partner of Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, is pleased to announce that Alexander D. Widell, Esq., of Garden City, has joined the firm as a Partner in its Commercial Litigation practice group at the firm’s Garden City office.

Alexander D. Widell concentrates his practice on all facets of complex business litigation.  The scope of his practice is diversified and includes resolving complex, high-stakes business disputes, both private disputes and those arising out of government investigations and enforcement actions.  Mr. Widell represents issuers, directors and officers, underwriters, certified public accountants, and other targets of litigation in federal securities cases and investigations brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission and private plaintiffs, and in shareholder class action and derivative litigation. He earned his J.D. from New York Law School, cum laude and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.  Mr. Widell began his career in the Business & Securities litigation group at Weil Gotshal & Manges and then had stops at Baer Marks & Upham and more recently at Bickel & Brewer where he was the senior ranking attorney responsible for the operations of the firm’s New York City office.
